She has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling. She is a genetic counselor with a specialized focus on the psychosocial management of sickle cell disorders. She is also a gender and Development expert with core competencies in capacity development, research, and evidence-based programming and policy development. She is the Executive Director of the Centre for Gender, Health, and Social Rehabilitation, a not-for-profit NGO based in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. As a clinical psychologist, she specifically has a special focus on young people and women. As a gender and development professional, Dr. Ilesanmi is involved in gender equality and social inclusive research, consultancies and initiatives related to SH/GBV, policy and guidelines development, policy analysis, training of trainers (TOT), GESI inclusive programming, and strategic planning. She is also a senior lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Gender and Development Studies, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
